The Office of Financial Aid uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine a student’s financial need. All such information is held in the strictest confidence and is accessible for this purpose only. Family size, income, and resources, among other factors, are considered in determining a family’s expected contribution toward the student’s educational costs. Financial need generally represents the difference between the cost of attending Hendrix and the amount the student and his or her parents are expected to contribute. The amount and type of assistance a student receives are dependent upon the availability of funds, the student’s demonstrated financial need, the student’s classification, and the record of academic performance. The application for financial aid is available at www.fafsa.gov. Students who submit their FAFSA to the Office of Financial Aid by March 1, prior to the year of anticipated enrollment, will be given priority status. Students will be notified of their financial aid awards as soon as possible after receipt of the necessary information by the Office of Financial Aid.
