The
Oathout Technology Center (OTC) is located in the Student Life and
Technology Center (SLTC). The Media Center is located in the OTC
and provides audio-visual, videoconference, and/or recording support for
classes and events on campus, as well as orientation and guidance in
developing multimedia projects.
For events where there is a large
off-campus audience, the Media Center offers live video streaming to the
web. For intercollegiate collaborations, candidate interviews, or guest
lectures, the Media Center provides videoconferencing room-systems on
campus for formal videoconferencing. Simple web-conferencing, such as
making a call with Skype, can be accomplished in various other locations
on campus.
The Media Center works with campus constituents to
find simple, reliable software solutions and processes, in support of
academic multimedia projects and initiatives. It provides support and
materials for finished projects, including rendering and posting
multimedia projects and printing flyers, posters, and 3D printed
objects.
Classroom and Event Support
The Media
Center provides audio-visual support for faculty in their classrooms by
installing and maintaining accessible, user-friendly technology across
campus.
Over 50 teaching spaces house audio-visual equipment to
support a wide-range of uses. The Media Center delivers audio-visual
equipment to any indoor space on campus upon request. The Media Center
also supports events in Staples Auditorium, Reves Recital Hall, and the
Worsham Performance Hall.
