Assistant Professor Liu
The Department of Foreign Languages offers a minor in Chinese; courses in Chinese language and literature may be used for the Asian Studies minor. The program is designed to develop written and oral communication skills in the target languages, to promote global awareness through the study of different cultures and peoples, and to encourage aesthetic appreciation through the study of literature.

The department encourages all students to have a study-abroad experience. Subject to approval by the Chinese coordinator, courses taken while studying abroad may be used to fulfill up to two of the course requirements for the minor.
