A native of Conway, Terry J. "T.J." Ticey played on one of Coach Cliff
Garrison's winning basketball teams while earning his B.A. in business
and economics from Hendrix. He later completed the Executive MBA Studies program at the Carlson School of Business, University of Minnesota.
Since 2000, he has been Vice President of Member Services for the Board of Pensions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). In this role, Ticey oversees the administrative services of pension and benefits
programs for nearly 50,000 plan members and more than 11,000
participating congregations and other sponsoring ELCA organizations.
Prior to joining the Board of Pensions in 2000, Ticey worked 20 years
for The St. Paul Companies, holding various positions in underwriting,
marketing, service center operations, corporate consulting and
multicultural business.
He is also a board member of African
American Family Services and Charities Review Council, former board
member for Management Assistance Program for Nonprofits, and a trustee for the congregation at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Minneapolis.
Ticey has served on the Hendrix College Board of Trustees since 2010. He and his wife, Debra C. Ticey ’81, have two children.
