offerings in the form of warm caffeinated beverages and study snacks in
the library beginning Reading Day (Dec 5).
Library Finals Week Hours
The library will be open until 12 midnight beginning Reading Day. Find all the details on our

Always remember that if you are uncomfortable walking home alone in the
evening hours, our trusty P-Safe officers are happy to see you home.
Write-In at the Writing Center
Work on your final projects in the community of the Writing Center at Bailey Library Dec 1-3 and 7 from 7-11 pm. Snacks, coffee, and collaborative assistance provided!
Adopt-a-Book
One of our holiday decorations is a Christmas tree festooned
with book jackets of our acquisitions over the last year. If you
“adopt” one of those new books (read it over break and write a short
review), we’ll dedicate it to you or a loved one and
publish your review on our website after the break. Contact
libraryreference@hendrix.edu for more information.
Jane Austen Collection Highlight
In honor of Jane Austen's 250 birthday (Dec 16, 1775), the library has pulled out a mini-collection of resources by, on, or relating to Jane Austen. The collection is located in the second floor rotunda display shelves, and will be displayed through fall semester.
Academic Assistance
- There are several places where you can find help with
your classes: the Learning Commons & Reading Room (on the library side) and the Computer Lab & Seminar
Room (in the Snoddy Center). Hours span Sun-Thurs evenings. Find places, subjects, and
hours soon on the
Peer Assistance website.
- Writing Associates are available in the
Writing Center to help with any writing endeavor!
- Need some help starting that research paper? Book an appointment with a librarian!
Manga & Graphic Novels Collection Highlight
Check out our new featured mini collection of Manga and graphic novels on display behind the Reference Desk. Curated by Library Associate Piper Fisherman, this collection reflects some new purchases
and titles that were already in our main collection. Please give them some use and have fun with the free coloring sheets!
Book Suggestion Form
If you'd like the library to purchase a book for our collection just fill out this form, and we'll give it our consideration!
New Resources
The library recently acquired online access to Science, which you can browse or search. Also new are additions to the legal/government database HeinOnline, including Indigenous Peoples of the Americas (History, Culture & Law), Business & Legal Aspects of Sports & Entertainment (BLASE), Animal Studies (Law, Welfare & Rights), and the National Survey of State Laws.
Remote Access
Everything you need to know about the library's remote services and access can be found on our
