The Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost (Teresa Garrett) is responsible for personnel, programs, and offices in academic affairs and student affairs and coordinates with other areas of the college to promote a strong educational
experience for students and a good working environment for faculty and staff. To accomplish this, the Provost works with the Faculty and its committees in formulating, recommending and implementing educational policies and programs. With the advice
of the Area Chairs and Department Chairs, the Provost makes recommendations to the President about personnel issues, such as hiring new faculty and evaluating faculty for promotion and tenure. The Provost supervises the Registrar’s Office, all academic
departments, Bailey Library, the Office of Advising and Academic Success, the Office of Career Services, the Odyssey Office, the Windgate Museum, the Office of Assessment, and other programs and offices under academic affairs.
The Vice President for Advancement (Meredith Brunen) is responsible for advancing the institution's philanthropic and engagement goals. Reporting directly to the President, this role plays a pivotal part in fostering a culture of philanthropy and
enhancing relationships with alumni, donors, parents, and community stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing and executing fundraising strategies, cultivating major gifts, and managing alumni engagement. This role oversees external relations,
coordinates advancement communications, and plans special events to foster engagement and support. Collaboration with the Board of Trustees, Alumni Association Board of Governors, and leadership of the advancement team are key components, requiring
strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to Hendrix College’s mission.
The Vice President for Finance & Operations and Chief Financial Officer (Bernadette Hinkle) is responsible for the financial affairs of the College. The CFO has direct responsibility for the permanent funds of the College and is the chief fiscal officer. The CFO supervises the financial operations of the College
and requires such accounting of receipts and disbursements as will guarantee honest and efficient management of all funds. The CFO supervises the maintenance of financial records and makes reports to the President, to officers, and to Committees of
the Board as needed. The CFO also supervises the operations of the College’s offices of Physical Plant, Dining Services, and the Business Office. The CFO is also responsible for the strategic direction of the Human Resources and Information Technology
teams.
The Interim Vice President for Enrollment (Terry Cowdrey) serves as the chief enrollment officer and provides leadership in the areas of enrollment planning, student recruitment, admission, and financial aid. The Vice President advises on financial aid policy and optimal use of state, federal, and institutional financial aid resources and actively participates in retention initiatives. The Vice President participates as a member of the Retention Council.
The Director
of Athletics and Recreation (Amy Weaver) administers the 21 NCAA Division III athletic programs and provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for all aspects of the program. The DAR is responsible for fundraising, fiscal affairs, personnel,
strategic planning, facilities, public relations, and general operations; and works closely with multiple internal and external constituencies, including direct reports, to advance the overall mission, vision, goals and objectives of Hendrix College.
