Senior Statement
Our goal as the senior seminar class of 2005 is to challenge ourselves, our audience, and our peers. We wish to evoke feelings on different levels of consciousness that may not normally be accessed by challenging taboos and breaking down barriers that traditionally exist in the theatre. We are taking risks and ask that you as audience members take risks as well, both emotionally and intellectually. As up and coming theatre artists, we feel by re-examining our past, we can ask questions that will better our future. With our production of Big Love we present the question: “What does it mean to be human and to take the risk of loving another human in our current world that is consumed by stereotypes and confined to a set standard of morals?”
The actors worked to develop their characters through scene study and improvisations. All of the seniors collaborated by working in both the technical execution and the rehearsal process in order to organically create an original and exciting theatrical experience.
