Hendrix College cultivates graduates who are ready to engage with the world beyond our campus. Embracing eight Career Competencies, our entire community works together to inspire graduates to "Be Hendrix. Beyond Hendrix."

Engage with Career Services to help your students understand their value and worth in the world of work beyond Hendrix. We have a variety of resources including syllabus statements, assignments that can help students connect your course to real-world situations, and helpful videos about career exploration, resume building, and more.  We can tailor a presentation or workshop specifically for your class or student group, or we can help arm you with more information on career and hiring trends as they relate to the classes you teach and students you advise. Let's talk about it!

INFORMATION FROM FALL 2019 CAREER READINESS CAMPUS-WIDE MEETING

Hendrix cultivates empathy, creativity, self-understanding, rigorous inquiry, informed deliberation, and active learning across the liberal arts, toward the development of the whole person. Through engagement that links the classroom with the world, and a commitment to diversity, inclusion, justice, and sustainable living, the Hendrix community inspires students to lead lives of accomplishment, integrity, service, and joy. ( The Statement of Purpose )

Our students develop a breadth of knowledge across the liberal arts and sciences that gives them the potential to explore the present and flexibly meet the demands of their futures. Through this breadth of study, we, the college community, encourage students to enhance their understanding by making connections among different bodies of knowledge. Our students also engage more deeply in at least one area of study, establishing facility in their chosen discipline. ( Vision for Student Learning )

With the guidance of the college community and the curriculum requirements, our students benefit from the breadth and depth of a liberal arts and sciences education.
