Biography

Marie Kressin is a graduate of Hendrix College and earned her MFA from the University of the South. She has been included in such publications as Arkansas's Best Emerging Poets, SLANT, The Arkansas International, Timber, SWWIM, and elsewhere. Marie was selected as Dairy Hollow’s 2023 Moondancer Fellow and acted as the 23-24 fellow for the Hellbender Gathering of Poets. Her poem “Dead Bird’s Skull” was nominated for the 2023 Best of the Net award, and she is the Acquisitions Manager for April Gloaming Publishing in Nashville. Before accepting her position as an Assistant Professor in the English Department at Hendrix College, she worked as a professional writer, focused primarily on public school marketing in the age of school choice.
