Communications

What We Do

Crisis Communications – We oversee external and internal communication during critical situations and support the College’s emergency response plan and procedures.

Event Promotion – We can assist with creative design, development, and printing of College-related materials (e.g. ad design, banners, brochures, publicity, etc.). Complete our online submission form to request promotional support from our office.

Graphic Identity (e.g., logos, etc.) – We uphold the College’s graphic and visual identity through consistent application of standards for the use of the Hendrix logos and imagery, as well consistency in content, design, and photography. For more information, visit the online Hendrix Brand Guide.

H-Alert – The College’s official emergency notification system notifies users via text and email message of an emergency or potential emergency. All students, faculty, and staff are automatically registered on H-Alert but may opt out of the text portion of the alerts.

Hendrix Today – The official daily source of campus announcements, deadlines, and events is emailed every weekday when classes are held. Use the Hendrix Today Submission Form to submit an item to Hendrix Today.

Media Relations – We distribute college news and information to local, state, and national media and manage the College’s relationship with media by assisting reporters with inquiries.

Photography – We coordinate new faculty and staff portrait photography for the Hendrix website and can assist with photography for College events or programs. Contact Amy Forbus (forbus@hendrix.edu) for more information.

Print Publications – We can assist with creative design, development, and printing of College-related materials (e.g., program brochures, event publicity, etc.).

Publicity – Contact us to discuss ways to publicize Hendrix events or news. Complete our online submission form to request promotional support from our office.

Social Media – We oversee the official Facebook, Instagram, Flickr, and Twitter accounts. Check out the College’s social media guidelines for more information.

Video – Requests to record campus events should be directed to the Oathout Technology Center in the Student Life and Technology Center.

Website – Communications can assist with copywriting and photography for web pages. Contact Technology Services at HelpDesk@hendrix.edu to create new pages or add new features, and to learn how to update and maintain departmental or program web pages using the College’s content management system.
