Elizabeth T. and John S. Workman Summer Project Grant

The Elizabeth T. and John S. Workman Summer Project Grant, an award of up to $2,600 in the summer of 2024, is designed to assist students exploring their vocation in one or more of the professions and forms of civic engagement close to hearts of Rev. John S. and Elizabeth T. Workman. These are (in order of the donor’s preference and priority):

  • Work connected to the United Methodist Church, 
  • Professions used for the promotion of social justice,
  • Careers related to the news media, and/or
  • Careers involving writing.

Projects, internships, courses of study, and activities on or off campus, but preferably off campus, will be considered. Grant activities should span 6 – 8 weeks, approximately 30 – 40 hours per week. Applications  for Summer 2024 will be due March 1, 2024.   Applications will be available  online here.
