Hendrix Mobile Print requires you to print your documents in .pdf format.  Also, professors may ask you to submit assignments in pdf format.  If you have access to Adobe Acrobat DC, you can use Adobe annotation tools to write or draw on a pdf.

Scan to PDF in Teams Assignments from your mobile device.

"Print to PDF" saves your document exactly as you see it. To preserve a Word or PowerPoint document (such as a research poster or event poster for your student organization) to a pdf format without any formatting shifts, choose "print to pdf".

"Save as" a PDF, converts the document which means the PDF interprets the formatting of the original document, so there may be shifts or changes in how the PDF looks relative to the original--which is fine if you intend to continue editing the document in PDF (and have PDF editing software).

Here's a quick gif for how to print to pdf.  It is very like selecting printer-printer.  Your computer may have a variety of "Print to PDF" options, choose your preference.

  1. Open the word document you wish to convert to PDF.
  2. Click on the “FILE” button in top left hand corner of the screen.
  3. Click the “Print” option.
  4. Change the printer from the default printer to the pdf writer you prefer.
  5. Once you have changed the printer, click the “Print” option.
  6. A new window will pop up allowing you to save your document as a PDF. Choose a location that is easy to remember and click save.

You now saved a print-ready copy of your word document as a PDF. The original Word document was not harmed in the making of a PDF.

If you need a PDF writer for other occasions, CutePDF Writer is a free write to PDF service that is easy to download. Click on the provided hyperlink to go to the page, then click free download about half way down the page on the right side. You can use whichever "print to pdf" app is available on your computer, and you can add others that you prefer and are generally free.
