Everybody Loves a Book
Sale!
The library will hold a book sale of hundreds of
library weeded titles Thurs, Apr 16 through Sun, Apr 19 during the hours the library is open. Peruse
volumes of juvenile fiction, history, psychology, and more. Get paperbacks for $1
and hardbacks for $2 (cash or check only, please!).
National Library Week
"Find Your Joy" and celebrate libraries during National Library Week,
Apr 19-25! Peruse our reference desk display and library mural (see below), appreciate a library
staffer, check out a book, or just come and enjoy our space!
Together We Rise
Join us for an unveiling of senior Michelle Leyva's library mural, a capstone presentation centered around social justice, art, and libraries, at 2:30 pm on Sat, Apr 18. The mural will be on display through the end of May.
Reception Honoring Werner Trieschmann
There will be a reception honoring the late Werner Trieschmann on the second floor of the library near the display showcasing his works and life on Sat, Apr 18 at 3:00 pm. All are welcome!
National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month. Dive into some slim volumes from Bailey Library's rotunda display, or pen a poem, and we'll add it to our display! Send submissions to libraryreference@hendrix.edu.
Writing Center's New Location
The Writing Center has a new location in Bailey Library! The Writing Center will be located in the front part of the Snoddy Center - turn left as you enter the library, and go through the card-locked door.

Check out our new featured mini collection of Manga and graphic novels on display behind the Reference Desk. Curated by Library Associate Piper Fisherman, this collection reflects some new purchases
and titles that were already in our main collection. Please give them some use and have fun with the free coloring sheets!

New Resources
The library recently acquired online access to Science, which you can browse or search. Also new are additions to the legal/government database HeinOnline, including Indigenous Peoples of the Americas (History, Culture & Law), Business & Legal Aspects of Sports & Entertainment (BLASE), Animal Studies (Law, Welfare & Rights), and the National Survey of State Laws.
