Alpha Epsilon Delta

The Premedical Honor Society: Hendrix College Chapter

Hendrix College supports the Arkansas Beta chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta, and an affiliated Pre-Med (MD2B) Club.

The purpose of the joint organizations is to expose pre-health students to the range
of health career opportunities that are available as they formulate their career goals.

To fulfill this goal:
1)  We bring in physicians of various specialties to talk about their work and experiences.
2)  We invite a panel of current medical school students to share their experience at medical
school and provide an insight to what pre-health students may experience in the future.
3)  We hold informational sessions, where experts (e.g. the Director of Admissions at UAMS)
provide in detail the steps necessary for successful professional school applications.
4)  We provide opportunities for volunteer work that provides students with exposures to
the health care field and other areas of volunteer service.

Participation in AED and the Pre-Med (MD2B) Club is a valuable way of getting insights in
to what a career in medicine is like, and it provides an important experience to have on
your resume when applying to professional school.
