Rwandan students arrive at their home universities and colleges prepared for
their freshman year thanks to host families living in and around Little Rock, Arkansas.
All students are placed with a host family for the summer while they attend language
training language training at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s English
as a Second Language summer program. We would not be able to afford the summer program
without the support in terms of room and board provided by generous host families.
These wonderful families also provide intensive cultural training. This experience
is enriched through the efforts of
International Friendship Outreach,
Fellowship Bible Church and St. Andrew’s Church.
Our students are kept healthy with the combined efforts of UALR’s health clinic
and local doctors and dentists who offer care at reduced prices or for free.
It is no wonder that even though RPS students attend colleges and universities
across the South, most of them consider Arkansas to be their “home away from home”.
