Hendrix Players Present ‘Wet or, Isabella the Pirate Queen Enters the Horse Latitudes’

CONWAY, Ark. (February 5, 2018) – The Hendrix Players and the Hendrix College Department of Theatre Arts and Dance present Wet or, Isabella the Pirate Queen Enters the Horse Latitudes by Liz Duffy Adams. The production is directed by Hendrix alumna Ashlie Atkinson ’01, Murphy Visiting Theatre Director, a position sponsored by the Hendrix-Murphy Foundation Programs in Literature and Language.

Performances are held in Cabe Theatre from Wednesday, February 21 through Friday, February 23, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, February 24, at 2 p.m. Hendrix Players productions are free and open to the public, but reservations are recommended. For reservations, visit www.hendrix.edu/theatrearts or call 501-450-1343. Note: The play features adult themes and situations, so it may not be suitable for young people.

“This play lives and dies by its building of relationships,” Atkinson said in a recent interview. “Friends fight, people are betrayed, unexpressed feelings are finally expressed, people fall for each other but don’t trust each other... watching the characters risk everything for love and freedom, the level of belief they come to have in love and freedom, it’s breathtaking. That said, there’s also some great comedic moments and a fair bit of spectacle, but I don’t want to spoil any of the surprises.”

The cast and crew consist entirely of Hendrix students:
