What are your thoughts about the Accelerated Schools Project? (According to Byrd and Finnan in their Fall 2003 article in the Journal of Staff Development "Expanding Expectations for Students Through Accelerated Schools," this project is based on the belief that accelerating the learning of all students, especially those at risk of failure, will bring all students into the academic mainstream by the end of elementary or middle school.) Do you agree that if educators raise their expectations, they can raise student achievement? What are your thoughts about ability grouping? Should there be Regular, GT, and Pre-AP courses at Charterville, or should all students receive enriched instruction regardless of their test scores?

I would like to see what you cohorts have to say about your questions. These are great questions and they exemplify the type of detail that I would like for us to pursue. Also, they provide a great introduction to Session Four. Accelerated Schools have been around for a while.
