    • Looking over election code
    • Cannot appoint cabinet/must be approved, technically eligible
    • Need to revise the election code
    • Desh-5 students may not run for two positions concurrently
    • Rachel Robbins—faulty election code?
      • “Sketchy”, but the “write-in” campaign did not violate the election code
      • Delaney--We must adhere to the code, we cannot work with a hypothetical code
      • Violation of Ethics?
        • Undermining the election process on campus
          • Manipulating loophole?
          • Flawed code, not a loophole
        • Is it right for Executive members to endorse candidates?
          • Executives had endorsed candidates during the election week, and for many years Exec members have endorsed candidates.
            • Emily Canon
              • Interesting disparity that this protest did not come up until after the elections, and not earlier in the week
        • Dean
          • Flaws only found out through practice
          • Reasonable code, must adhere to it
        • Blake—what we send out is important to everyone, respond, read etc.
        • Transparency is not a one way road
      • Ethan
        • Annie/her campaign had access to the Student Activities Suite, is this fair?
          • All students have access to this suite until midnight
          • Nothing was printed after midnight

      • “we are hood and we’re proud”—Hunter
      • Dean’s looking into it

III. Announcements andConstituent Concerns

      • Hunter—Can we invite the Green Cart Deli to sporting events?
        • Anvesh is on it
    • Seniors –can we have an additional 24 hours to move out?
      • Will grant extensions to out of state students/other extenuating circumstances, however it is difficult for logistical/staffing reasons to allow seniors to stay longer.
    • Courtney
      • Art major’s are having difficulty finding an on-campus venue for their Senior show, that can accommodate all seniors
      • The show is over a long period of time
      • Village is too expensive
      • Can’t use Hulen because the bathrooms aren’t functional
      • Trieschman is too small
      • Mills Library is WAY too small
      • Cannot find a good off campus space
      • Possibility for short term: progressive art show throughout campus
      • Mike--Combine with a new party space (future)
      • Dean: those talking about the colleges 10 year plan have proposed an art gallery/ similar space
        • Also talking about a Barn space for a bike revolution and art workshops (perhaps this could also be a space to exhibit art)
      • IF YOU HAVE IDEAS SEND THEM COURTNEY’S WAY

IV. Departmental LiaisonReports

V. Committee Reports

  • Campus Kitty with Malena Outhay

  • Social Committee with Will Phillips

    • FORMAL
      • Success!
      • If you are missing a coat or a pair of shoes check out the student activities office
      • Over 1000 student wristbands, 80-90 guests
      • Courtney—foam party photographs

        • Someone else shooting?
        • Don’t encourage outside photographers
      • Lauren—Can the SoCo party unofficial lost and found be moved to the SoCo office? Easier to have things in the Student Activities office because this door is open/Tonya and Brent are there throughout the day, making lost items easier to claim.

  • Academic Policy with LaRonda Mitchell
    • Collegiate Center
      • Collegiate Center: trying to create a timeline/going through proposals next week before the next faculty meeting
      • CW is DONZO (if you want to keep your CW credit, current students can abide by the old Catalog)
      • Faculty discussed how students are not abiding by the smoking policy
      • Dylan—Perhaps dropping the fine amount to around $10 could be more effective?

      • DAO week scheduled  April 16th
      • Will send in a more detailed proposal

  • Committee on Everything Awesome with Dean Jim Wiltgen
    • Village furniture
      • Most colleges provide furniture (our model is odd)
        • Comes out of a budgetary restriction
        • The college wants to rent out the Village in the summer to those who come for conferences, but this is difficult because there is no furnityre.
          • Helps college operational costs
          • Moving furniture is a burden on the building
          • Squatters can choose to keep their furniture, keep this rule going until there are no longer residents with their own furniture
          • Twin size beds?
            • Probably
            • Senate: Students would prefer larger beds, that’s one of the perks of living in an apartment.
          • Other furniture: Bar stools, desk, dresser, bed, chair, couch, loveseat, coffee table, end table
            • Situations where students aren’t squatters but already have furniture, there will be SOME flexibility
              • Where should constituents go with questions?
              • Dean will get back to us.
        • Doubling up—over-crowders will get a break on housing!

      • Decision to revamp the caf/make hours better reflect the lives of college students has been pushed back another year.

    • Log Cabin
      • Went and spoke with them everything seemed fine, editor called to follow up and the woman she talked to no longer works there. Printing will be late, they do not consider us a high priority or “hot ticket item”.
      • Courtney refuses to continue to use them (rightly so!), although the cost will increase
