About: While at Hendrix, Bethanie had the opportunity to study abroad in Shanghai, China and complete a horticulture internship with Maude & Payne in Greenbrier, AR. She aspires to build her career within the Arkansas Department of Transportation and to expand public transportation services within the state.
Peyton Hall
Hometown: Dripping Springs, Texas
Second major: Spanish
About: Peyton interned at Treaty Oak Distilling in Dripping Springs, Texas with the head of sustainability working towards a greener business model. After Hendrix, Peyton wants to travel abroad, and then go to graduate school to study Sustainable Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
Alex Lambert
Hometown: New Orleans, Louisiana
Minor: Biology
About: Alex interned at the Audubon Insectarium in New Orleans where she learned about the importance of insect education and public outreach. While at Hendrix Alex was a resident assistant in Couch Hall for her junior and senior year and also served as Couch Hall president her sophomore year. She is interested in sustainable farming practices, coral reefs, and Louisiana's disappearing coastline. Her future plans include working for the National Park Service or in the zookeeping industry, eventually becoming a farmer, giving back to her community, and educating others about the farming industry.
Bailey Mclendon
Hometown: Austin, Texas
About: Bailey interned for a nonprofit called Equidad ATX where he worked on GIS projects, making maps and gathering data on a low-income minority community in Austin, Texas. He is interested to learning more about GIS and urban planning for low-income communities so that he can help bring light to residential income and racial disparities in this country. He hopes to go to graduate school for architecture or GIS and urban planning.
Krishna Patel
Hometown: Corpus Christi, Texas
Second major: Biology
About: Krishna interned at Central Arkansas Water in the summer of 2020 where she learned about natural resource management and protection. She is planning to pursue a graduate degree relating to water resources conservation, aquatic ecology, and entomology.
