Patrick Morrisey

Hometown: Pine Bluff, AR
Concentration: Biology                                                      

About: Patrick completed an internship with natural fisheries researchers from University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and hopes to work with businesses that provide environmental services to the public.

Hometown: Vilonia, AR
Concentration: Biology
Minor: Anthropology

About: Jenna has a wide range of research interests she hopes to pursue, including archaeological research on plant domestication, ethnographic research on gender and food behaviors, and quinones and Finiculum notatum growth. She has gained research experience from interning at the Toltec Mounds Archaeological State Park where she learned skills such as measurement, data collection techniques, proper use of a DinoLight Scope, and sorting light fractions from samples. While at Hendrix, Jenna also served as the vice president of Couch Hall’s hall council. 


lieberHanna Liebermann

Hometown: Dallas, TX
Concentration: Chemistry
Second Major: Biology

About: Hanna plans to attend graduate school to study alternative medicine and practice acupuncture after serving in the Peace Corps. While at Hendrix, Hanna interned at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas in Fort Worth where she gained a fondness for applied botany.  Her other activities included attending a botany conference in China, participating in the Murphy Scholar Program, and studying desert ecology at Ben Gurion University of the Negev (Israel). Hanna serves on the executive board of Hendrix Interfaith and as the President of Hillel, the Jewish student association.

Hometown: Little Rock, AR
Concentration: Biology
Second Major: History

About: Rachel plans to combine her two areas of study by going into the education sector while continuing to work outdoors.  While at Hendrix, she completed a history thesis titled “God Will List Vincent As a Wichita." A Disenrollment in Three Acts, 1777-2000 on the subject of Native American tribal disenrollment, kinship dynamics, and raiding in the Southwest Borderlands. In the summer of 2017, she interned at Rattle’s Garden gaining organic farm management skills, and at the Sequoyah National Research Center in Little Rock.

Hometown: Pine Bluff, AR
Concentration: Chemistry
Second Major: Biology

About: Maggie hopes to attend graduate school with a goal of bringing visibility to the importance of natural systems. She believes her close bonds with her professors and mentors have resulted in successful research projects including measuring ecosystem services for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Buffalo National River. While at Hendrix, Maggie also worked on a field guide for the Field Hills of Kansas, studied thyroid cancer, and experimented with the stream ecology of fracking dams.

Concentration: Biology
Minor: Spanish

About: Rachel hopes to attend graduate school and find a career in environmental and wildlife conservation after spending this summer working at Yellowstone and then pursuing an Americorps position.  While at Hendrix, she interned at Rattle’s Garden gaining organic farm management skills.


Sarah Weems 

Hometown: Eureka Springs, AR
Concentration: Biology

About: Sarah aspires to contribute to the field of wildlife conservation and has a particular interest in researching bats.  While at Hendrix, she interned with the Nature Conservancy identifying and monitoring plants and participated in the Murphy Scholar program.

Concentration: Biology

About: While at Hendrix, Frank had the opportunity to study abroad and completed an internship at Bells Bend Park in Nashville, TN. 


luke Luke Lefler

Hometown: Hot Springs, AR
Concentration: Biology
Second Major: Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology

About: Luke’s career goal is to attend medical school and become a physician in an environmental context. He has researched bison ecology in the Tallgrass Prairie Reserve and interned as a Backcountry guide/educator at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. While at Hendrix, Luke also served as the Tennis Team Captain, was a ITA Scholar Athlete, and on the SAA Academic Honor Roll.

Hometown: Fayetteville, AR
Concentration: Sociocultural

About: Ebb hopes to bring visibility to environmental injustices and efforts in underserved communities while exploring spiritual connections with the environment. She completed an internship at the Rock Creek National Park in Washington D.C. 


charles Charles McCracken

Hometown: Little Rock, AR
Concentration: Sociocultural
Minor: Politics

About: Charles aspires to engage all groups of people with the outdoors. He has research experience in a broad range of areas, including philosophy, anthropology, and politics. While at Hendrix, Charles contributed to the publication of a Flint Hills field guide, worked on GIS projects, and led the development of College Disc Golf in the Southern U.S.   


cerelia Cerelia Larrinagen

Hometown: Oklahoma City, OK
Concentration: Sociocultural
Minor: Anthropology

About: Cerelia wishes to encourage cultural expression through education, museums, and ethnographic methods. She has experience with gardening, cooking, child education, and community outreach. While at Hendrix, she completed an internship at the Mosaic Church in Conway, AR.
