Improving Our Responses to Sexual Assault Odyssey

On April 2, 2011, Hendrix hosted two events to honor Sexual Assault Awareness Month. First, the Clothesline Project, from the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence was strung through the Pecan Court on campus using t-shirts to personalize gender-based violence. Second, there was programming from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. that included presentations and workshops by staff, faculty, and students, as well as other experts. A former Hendrix student spoke about moving from a victim to a survivor of sexual assault and Dr. Mary A. Wyandt-Hiebert, PhD, CHES, director of STAR Central Office of Health Promotion at the University of Arkansas, was the featured guest speaker. The event was organized by Dr. Lisa Leitz, Sarah Spencer, Sarah Beth Bell, Linh Chuong, Sara Poulton, and Ali Sanders
