Graduate schools of social work accept stduents with a variety of backgrounds. Like most undergraduate liberal arts colleges, Hendrix does not have a spearate social work degree program. Stduents interested in pursuing a career in social work should take courses in group relations (which might be taken in anthropology, sociology, and psychology) and human development (which might be taken in biology and psychology) regardless of major. Engaged learning opportunities such as internship experiences or other Odyssey Program projects related to social work can be an asset in preparing for graduate programs.
Look to the Future
Students should explore graduate programs in which they are interested to find out about course preferences for those programs.
