Benefit Information
Retirement: The IRS has increased the cap on employee contributions from $19,000 to $19,500 for 2020. Those over 50 years of age are eligible to make catch-up contributions up to $6,500 per year for a total limit of $26,000.
Flexible Spending: For 2020 the maximum employee pretax contributions to an FSA medical account increased from $2,700 to $2,750. There has been no change to the $5,000 (if married filing jointly) cap on (pre-tax) dependent childcare deductions.
Health Savings Accounts: Participants in the Qualified High Deductible plan are eligible to contribute to a Health Savings Account. Maximum pre-tax contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA) are $3550 for someone electing employee only coverage or $7100 for those electing employee plus one or more dependent. The maximum INCLUDES employer contributions. In 2020 Hendrix will match up to the first $250 an employee contributes to their HSA.
Health: There are no changes to the Core plan coverage. Core plan premiums have increased by 4% for 2020. The Qualified High Deductible plan premiums remain unchanged. The QHDHP plan deductible has had a deductible increase for coverage levels other than employee only, the increase is from $2,700 to $2,800 in accordance with IRS regulation. Please review the broad overview and premiums
here. As a reminder, in the premium chart "SS/DS" = Support Staff & Dining Services; "A/F" = "Administrative Staff and Faculty; "SLT" = Senior Leadership.
Preventative health coverage improvements: Changes in IRS regulations have enabled us to expand the prescription benefit of the Qualified High Deductible Plan to allow for coverage of certain preventative care items prior to meeting your deductible. Please see the list below for the items now available at a co-pay prior to meeting your deductible on the QHDHP plan. (These items were already covered, but QHDHP plan participants had to pay out-of-pocket for the cost until reaching their deductible. For those on the Core plan these items remain covered at the co-pay amount associated with the specific item). Additionally, several procedures have been added to the preventative care list for both plans, meaning they will be covered at 100% in the future. The list of newly added preventative care items is also found below.
Dental: Delta Dental premiums and coverage remain unchanged in 2020. Search providers
