Being an aboretum, the Hendrix campus is a natural abode for the gray squirrel. They can be found all over campus, scrounging the grounds for food or participating in a lively game of chase with one other. The squirrels have a special spot in the hearts of Hendrix students. The rambuncious little critters offer a welcome distraction to studying (and sometimes class). Students will often use the squirrel as an icon for school T-shirts and events.
