Two Hendrix Mathematics Teams Take Top Honors at State Contest

CONWAY, Ark. (March 28, 2017) – Two Hendrix College student teams recently competed at the 14th annual Arkansas Undergraduate Mathematics Competition at Harding University.

Participating Hendrix students included:

  • Jacob Hines ’19
  • Yuli Hong ’18
  • Travis Howk ’17
  • Jolli Khoo ’19
  • Ollie Kwizera ’17
  • Ryan Rose ’17

Twelve teams representing six Arkansas colleges competed.  

Winning Team Ramanujan (Hong, Howk, and Rose) edged out second-place Team Galois (Hines, Khoo, and Kwizera) 79 to 78 in an exciting one-point duel. 

These two teams have re-asserted Hendrix’s dominance of this contest: nine first-place finishes in the last 10 years. 

The contest will be held here at Hendrix next February.
