Economics Professor Delivers Lectures in Australia and Japan

Japan and AustraliaCONWAY, Ark. (February 28, 2017) – Hendrix College economics professor and meta-regression analysis authority Dr. Tom Stanley recently presented lectures in Australia and Japan.

Stanley gave an invited talk, “’Size Matters’ . . . or Why Policy is Routinely Disappointing,” at the Economic Policy Workshop at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. 

While at Deakin University, he also gave an invited lecture, “Meta-Regression Analysis of Research,” at the School of Business and Law’s Workshop on Meta-Analysis. 

Stanley gave an invited keynote lecture, “Meta-Analysis in the Social Science: An Introduction,’ at the “Frontiers of Transition Economics” conference at Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan. The workshop was sponsored by the Kyoto Institute of Economic Research. 

Stanley gave a meta-analysis seminar at the Institute of Economic Research at Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo. 

Over the last seven years, Hitotsubashi University professor Iwasaki has led a group of eight professors throughout Japan to master meta-analysis using Stanley’s book Meta-Regression Analysis for Economics and Business and several of his papers as the subject of their monthly discussions. This research group has now produced over 10 meta-analyses. 

Both Kyoto Institute of Economic Research and the Hitotsubashi Institute of Economic Research are seeking international cooperation with the Meta-Analysis of Economics Research—Network (MAER-Net) at Hendrix
