CONWAY, Ark. (January 18, 2017) – The Conway Composers
Guild’s Annual Concert, featuring Hendrix College and University of Central
Arkansas (UCA) composers and performers, will be Sunday, Feb. 7, at 3 p.m., at
First United Methodist Church in Conway.
The program will feature:
- The Heavenly Hills of Holland drip by
Sydney Hickok ’17 (words by Henry Van Dyke), performed by Hendrix student vocal
trio Bridget Yelk ’17, Delaney Wells ’18, and Kathleen Mowery ’18
- Post Storm by Jorrell Bonner, performed
by Jorrell Bonner, voice, and Joseph Duong piano
- Concise Beethoven Piano Sonatas by Paul
Dickinson, performed by Paul Dickinson, piano
- Selections
from Dialogues d’amour et de la mort (Bitter Morality, Totentanz, Le grand mal,
la petite mort) by Hendrix music professor Dr. Karen Griebling, performed
by Hendrix alumna Stephanie Smittle ’03, soprano, and Stefanie Dickinson, piano
- In the Morning by Daniel
DeTogni, performed by Gustavo Fernandez Agreda, violin, and Daniel DeTogni,
electric guitar
- Etude for Solo Electric Bass and Effects by
Michael Yoder, performed by Michael Yoder, electric bass and effects.
