Hendrix Welcomes Class of 2020

Freshman 2020 Class Photo-27CONWAY, Ark. (August 17, 2016) – Hendrix College welcomed 360 new students to campus during Move-in Day 2016.

The Class of 2020 represents Arkansas and 25 other states, as well as Bangladesh, China, Korea, Netherlands and Rwanda.

Classes for the fall 2016 semester begin Tuesday, Aug. 23. 

Class of 2020 Highlights

  • Gender representation is 50.8 percent female and 49.2 percent male.
  • Multicultural student enrollment jumped by nearly 20 percent.
  • 45 new students are first generation college students.
  • 147 new Arkansas students chose Hendrix as a direct result of the Hendrix Arkansas Advantage financial assistance program.
  • 61 percent of the new student class is from Arkansas, the highest proportion of home-grown talent in more than a decade. 
  • 14 new students represent our Hendrix Aspire Scholarship partnership with Arkansas Commitment, KIPP Delta High School, Little Rock Catholic High School for Boys, Little Rock Central High School, and Mount St. Mary Academy.
  • More than 40 new students are legacies of Hendrix alumni.
