Meet a Mule: Mule-Showing and Commentary by Judge Bill Wilson ’62

CONWAY, Ark. (August 4, 2015) – The Hendrix-Murphy Foundation Programs in Literature and Language will host “Meet a Mule,” with The Honorable Billy Roy Wilson ’62 on Monday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m., on the Murphy House Lawn.

Wilson is a federal judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas and member of the Hendrix College Board of Trustees.

Judge Wilson raises mules at Rasputin Mule Farm in Bigelow, Arkansas.

Charles Darwin said of the mule, “The mule always appears to me a most surprising animal. That a hybrid should possess more reason, memory, obstinacy, social affection, powers of muscular endurance, and length of life, than either of its parents, seems to indicate that art has here outdone nature.”

Wilson will offer the Hendrix community an opportunity to get up close and personal with a real mule and provide commentary on these icons of Southern history and literature.
