CONWAY, Ark. (October 31, 2013) – Conway Mayor Tab Townsell
has designated the week of November 4 as the official French Week in Conway.
Townsell’s designation follows a request from students in
the Hendrix French Club and their advisor Dr. Cathy Jellenik, a French
professor at Hendrix.
To
celebrate, the French Club has activities planned for each day:
- Crêpes and French Conversation in the SLTC
kitchen on Monday.
- Rwandan traditional dancing and crafts on
Tuesday at 5 p.m. in SLTC 168.
- An Algerian film screening on Wednesday.
- Beignets in the Brick Pit to celebrate New
Orleans on Thursday during convocation followed by the discussion "8 Years
After Katrina" with Project Pericles.
- A Haitian film screening on Friday at 8 p.m. in
Mills A.
