Historic Game Spawns Student Tradition

CONWAY, Ark. (November 6, 2012) - The Log Cabin Democrat ran a story this week on the 1913 Hendrix College football game vs. Ole Miss (the University of Mississippi) in Conway.

That game was the impetus for Shirttails Serenade, now a yearly tradition for new students at Hendrix.

The story, written by University of Central Arkansas archivist Jimmy Bryant, can be read here.

Founded in 1876, Hendrix College is a national leader in engaged liberal arts and sciences education.
