Hendrix College alumna Kristin Putchinski, a 1997 graduate, is traveling the country this summer performing under her stage name, ellen cherry. She will perform in Texas, Maryland, Washington D.C., and many other venues.
A Plano, Texas native, Putchinski has been performing under the name ellen cherry since her days at Hendrix.

Putchinski has released numerous original works including nine albums. In 2003, she started her own label and recording studio, Wrong Size Shoes, which is based in Baltimore, Md.
Putchinski has garnered many accolades for her work including a 2010 Emmy nomination for “We Are Baltimore” and a 2009 Union Internationale de la Marionette Citation of Excellence for “Alonzo’s Lullaby,” a score composed for a shadow puppet piece.
Rachel McLemore is a senior history major from Marion, Ark. She is a student writer in the Office of College Relations and a member of the Office of Admission’s Hendrix Experience Ambassador Team (HEAT).
