CONWAY, Ark. (Feb. 11, 09) – The Hendrix Players will present Hot Mikado on Wednesday, Feb. 18 through Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Cabe Theatre, located on the Hendrix College campus. An additional matinee will be Saturday at 2 p.m. The production is free and open to the public but reservations are required. For reservations, call the box office at (501) 450-1343.
Hot Mikado, a musical comedy set in the 40’s Big Band era, tells the story of love, greed, and tap dancing.
The production, based on “The Mikado” by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, is directed by Hendrix-Murphy Visiting Theatre Director Ruthann Curry. The production is under the musical direction of James Olmstead. Scenic and lighting designs are by Danny Grace. Connie Campbell is costume designer and the production is choreographed by Brigitte Rogers. The book and lyrics are adapted by David H. Bell and the music is adapted and arranged by Rob Bowman.
The production was originally produced at Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C., and is presented at Hendrix through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
