CONWAY, Ark. (Sep. 22, 08) – Dr. Norman Boehm will perform a faculty piano recital Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Reves Recital Hall on the Hendrix College campus. Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call (501) 450-1247.
The recital “Late Music of Chopin,” will feature compositions such as Nocturne in E Major, Op. 62, No. 2; Mazurka in G Major, Op. 50, No. 1; and Mazurka in A Minor, Op. 59, No. 1. The recital will also include improvisations featuring audience participation.
He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan, and a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music. Boehm has performed in Europe, South Africa, and throughout the U.S. He specializes in music from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Boehm is associate professor of music and chair of the music department at Hendrix.
