Dr. Todd
Berryman to lead student advising, retention, and success initiatives beginning
July 1
CONWAY,
Ark. (November 13, 2023) — Hendrix College has named Dr. Todd Berryman to be
the Associate Provost for Advising and Student Success. Dr. Berryman, a professor
of history, begins his new role on July 1, 2024. He succeeds Dr. Liz Gron, who
will retire at the close of the academic year.
Berryman,
who joined the Department of History at Hendrix in 2006, has served as the convener
of the Academic and Professional Concerns Committee, chaired the Departments of
History and Education, and the Social Sciences Area.
Starting
in 2014, he began assisting the Office of Academic Affairs in the development
and implementation of various projects related to student retention and
completion.
“In
that role, he has collaborated effectively with the Registrar’s Office, the
Office of Advising and Student Success, Institutional Research, Technology
Services, the Odyssey Program, Intercollegiate Athletics, and more,” said Dr.
David Sutherland, Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and
Provost. “I am excited about how Todd’s work with advising initiatives will
help contribute to even stronger outcomes for our students.”

Success,” Berryman said. “The student-centered mission of that office is of
critical importance to our community, and I look forward to building upon their
collaborative work and identifying additional ways to support our students in
the years to come.”
Berryman
is an alumnus of Millsaps College and completed his
master’s degree and Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
