Career Specialists

As a part of a new academic advising model, the Career Specialist is a 10 month full-time professional staff member in the office of Academic Planning and Career Discovery and reports directly to the Director of Career Counseling and Internships.  This position will work closely to assist students, faculty, and other members of campus to facilitate the exploration of major and career choices. Career counseling or advising experience is a plus. The Career Specialist must have an understanding of the culture, values and curriculum of a liberal arts college.   

The College is currently seeking three Career Specialists to serve in the following distinct, subject matter focused, positions.  

Natural Sciences. Including: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Math/Computer Science

Social Sciences. Including: Psychology, Sociology/Anthropology, Politics/International Relationships, History, Education, Econ/Business or Kinesiology

Humanities. Including: English, Art, Foreign Languages, Music, Philosophy, Religion, or Theatre Arts/Dance  

Qualifications

Candidates will have education and experiences that demonstrate an understanding of the needs of students planning for careers or graduate schools. Bachelor’s Degree is required. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree and/or work experience in the field or fields related to the academic areas in their subject area.
