Financial Aid and Scholarships

Types of Aid

Hendrix offers need-based and achievement-based aid. Need-based aid depends on a family's financial resources. Merit-based aid is awarded for academic achievement and particular talents. The different types of aid offered at Hendrix are as follows:

  • Scholarships are awarded for academic achievement, leadership and service experience, and performance in the fine arts.
  • Grants are awards that do not have to be repaid.
  • Loans require repayment, but typically not until after graduation. Loans frequently offer low-interest rates and long terms.
  • Other Types of Aid include student employment, which provides pay for work on campus and includes Federal Work Study, and United Methodist Aid, which offers awards to students who are United Methodist.
