Lowering your cost

You've worked hard. You're a great student. You've demonstrated leadership and service. You've excelled in fine arts performances. Now it's time for your hard work to pay off.

Scholarships can work for you to help lower the cost of your Hendrix education. Here are available scholarships, including some of the details. Scholarship questions? Contact your Hendrix admission counselor for answers.

Hendrix Achievement-Based Scholarship

Hendrix College Scholarship

Eligibility: Based on GPA, standardized test scores (unless test optional), leadership and extracurricular activities, recommendations
Amount: $15,000 and up
Application: All accepted students receive an award based on a holistic review of their application materials.


Competitive Scholarships

These scholarships are extremely competitive and involve participation in a competition. The first step to ensure consideration is to apply for admission by November 15th.  Students competitive for these awards will be invited to complete next steps in January.

Hays Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Tuition, double occupancy residence hall room, unlimited board plan (without Burrow Bucks), and mandatory fees
Notes: The Hays Scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years if the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and selects housing and meal plan options covered by the award
Application: Application for admission serves as application for competitive scholarships. Students must submit an application for admission by November 15th to be considered.

Provost Scholarship

Amount: Tuition
Notes: The Provost Scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years if the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Dean's Scholarship

Amount: $2,000 per year in addition to your Hendrix College Scholarship
Notes: The Dean's Scholarship is renewable for up to three additional years if the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Application:

Hendrix Co-Curricular Scholarships

Esports Scholarship

Eligibility: Based on promise of contribution to the Esports team.
Amount: $1,000-$2,000 per year

United Methodist Youth Fellowship Leadership Scholarship

Eligibility: Leadership in United Methodist youth ministries
Amount: $1,000-$2,000 per year

Miller Center Service Scholarship

Eligibility: Demonstrated record of service and volunteer work
Amount: $1,000-$2,000 per year

Performing and Fine Arts Scholarship

 Eligibility: Based on talent in music, theatre, dance and art; open to non-majors
Amount: $1,000-$2,000 per year
Notes: Must apply by February 1 and must audition by March 16

Arkansas Scholarships

Arkansas Governor's Distinguished Scholarship

Eligibility: Visit the Arkansas Department of Higher Education's Website.
Amount: The scholarship amount is determined each February for new students enrolling during the following fall.
Notes: Arkansas residents only

Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship

Eligibility: Academic achievement and test scores
Amount: $1,000 freshman year $4,000 sophomore year $4,000 junior year $5,000 senior year

Hendrix College is a Collegiate Partner of Scholarship America and the Dollars for Scholars family of community scholarship foundations. Hendrix has agreed that Dollars for Scholars awards of up to $1,000 per student will not adversely affect scholarship funding provided by Hendrix.
