As your third year begins, you may want to consider the following:
- You should be working toward fulfilling your Odyssey requirements for graduation.
You can earn Odyssey credits by taking pre-approved courses, participating in pre-approved activities, or proposing an independently designed project. You must have a minimum of three different experiences chosen from three of the six Odyssey categories. When you graduate, your Odyssey Transcript will be a permanent record of your experiences. For more information about the Odyssey Program, contact the Odyssey Office at 501-505-2950, e-mail odyssey@hendrix.edu or visit www.hendrix.edu/odyssey.
- Start planning internships for your junior year and following summer.
If you wish to have an internship this fall, you will need to complete arrangements with Career Services no later than September 1, 2007. Career Services will also host Junior Jumpstart in the fall to give you information you need to prepare for your senior year. You can learn more about preparing for graduate school or even taking a gap year after graduation. Your third year at Hendrix is the best time to get a jump start on your future so that you have time to evaluate your options and plan wisely. Visit the Career Services Web site at www.hendrix.edu/career or contact them anytime at careerservices@hendrix.edu or 501-450-1416.
- Make plans to study abroad.
Your fellow students are heading abroad in record numbers this coming year. If you haven't made plans to do so yet, it's not too late. The Study Abroad Library (first floor Buhler) and the International Programs Office Web site at www.hendrix.edu/studyabroad are two great places to look into study abroad for next spring or part of your senior year. If you haven't already done so, you'll also want to attend the Study Abroad Convocation and the Study Abroad Fair. Look for more details about these events after the semester begins Feel free to contact the Study Abroad office at studyabroad@hendrix.edu or 501-505-2953 with any questions.
