Printing to a Xerox Printer
Printing and copying services are available to staff and faculty to the Xerox printers. You will have to have your user ID and account ID (budget code) when trying to print. Your user ID is assigned by Technology Services and the account ID is supplied by the area secretary.
Copying with a Xerox Copier
When using the copying portion of the Xerox, you will choose the "service" (i.e. Copy, Email), and then enter your user ID and account ID (budget code). On some of the newer machines, copying has to be completed in these steps for your user information to be accepted.
Troubleshooting
If you are having trouble printing to the Xerox, please check the following:
- Were you prompted to enter a user ID and an account ID when you printed?
- Are you using all capital letters when typing the user ID?
- Are you using the correct account ID?
- Can you go to the printer and enter the user ID and make a copy?
- Does the printer have paper in the appropriate trays?
- If you opened a drawer, is the printer waiting for confirmation from you about the paper?
- Are you trying to print a page that requires special paper? If so, have you put the paper in the tray and selected that type and size of paper when the Xerox asks the kind of paper inserted?
If you have tried all of this and still cannot print, please
contact the HelpDesk with the following information:
- The user ID and account ID you are using.
- A way that we can get in touch with you, including a phone number and an email address.
- The name and location of the printer you are trying to use.
