Who Pays for My Campus Computer's Software?

Categories

This article has not yet been rated.

Hendrix College Technology Services supplies the base operating system, and the Microsoft Office suite of software for each computer on campus. Students and employees of the college may also download and install Microsoft365 Office apps on their personal devices and computers for free for the duration of their time at Hendrix + 6 months.

There are also a number of other software packages, like SPSS or Arc-GIS, for which we hold campus-wide licenses. Check with your professors to see if the license allows you to download the software on your device, or access it in a computer lab. For all other software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Technology Services manages campus-wide licenses, but it is up to each department to fund software purchases for their staff and/or faculty, or to notify students where to access the software if it is not available for download.
