CONWAY, Ark. (April 6, 2017) – The Hendrix College Department of Theatre Arts and Dance 2017 Senior Seminar presents The Contemporary American Theatre Project: Proof, a play by David Auburn, produced by special arrangement with Dramatist Play Service, Inc., on Thursday, April 20, 2017 and Friday April 21, at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, April 22, at 2 p.m. in Cabe Theatre.

David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play is about 25-year-old Catherine who, following the death of her father, must face a number of long denied feelings and fears. Her father, Robert, was a brilliant mathematician who crossed the delicate line from genius to insanity several years earlier, leaving Catherine as his sole care giver. Tensions run high as her sister Claire returns home for the funeral and Catherine navigates new feelings as a relationship develops between herself and Hal (a former student of her father’s). She must adjust to Robert’s death and come to grips with her fear that his mathematical genius, which she has inherited, may come at a dreadful price, that she may be fated to the same mental instability of her father.

Performances are open seating and no reservations are required. For more information, visit www.hendrix.edu/theatrearts
