Hendrix Names New Public Safety Chief

Michael LeBlanc 2CONWAY, Ark. (June 14, 2016) – Hendrix College has named Michael S. LeBlanc the new Chief of Public Safety for the College. LeBlanc was selected after a national search.

LeBlanc, who will start August 1, comes to Hendrix from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa, where he served as Director Campus Security and Safety. At Ashford, LeBlanc developed and implemented a university-wide crisis response education program, as well as new standards, guidelines and procedures on campus safety and security. As the University’s Clery Coordinator, he maintained compliance records related to Department of Education guidelines and successfully participated in a DOE Clery Review with no discrepancies or infractions.

"I am humbled and honored to become part of the Hendrix College community,” said LeBlanc. “I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life with an institution that believes in caring, compassion, commitment, and communication."

LeBlanc brings 23 years of experience in security and compliance management, program management, and customer service. He is a former law enforcement officer and United States Air Force Gulf War veteran. He was selected for Presidential Security Support Detail for Presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton. In addition to numerous law enforcement, military, and professional training certifications, he completed a bachelor’s degree in emergency management and homeland security and a master’s degree in teaching and learning with technology from Ashford University.
