CONWAY, Ark. (December 19, 2014) – Hendrix College junior Adam Reece was recently selected for a writing internship
with the national office of the Phi Beta Kappa Society in Washington, D.C.
during the spring 2015 semester.
During his internship, Reece will write and conduct research for a
minimum of six publishable news- or features-style articles related to national
and local events, members, officers, and topics supporting the advancement of
liberal arts and sciences in higher education for Phi Beta Kappa’s The Key Reporter.
Reece, an English major from St. Paul, Minn.,
was recommended for the program by Hendrix English professors Dr. Pat Hoy and
Dr. Toni Jaudon.
"There is no doubt that Adam is a most deserving
student,” said Hoy. “I have had the pleasure of teaching him in two different
courses, and besides being a fine writer, he is a pace setter. His own
wise selection of writing samples suggests just how astute he is. His
written work won the internship."
When installed in 1998, The Beta of Arkansas Chapter at
Hendrix was Arkansas’ first new chapter in more than 60 years.
