Hendrix to Host Veterans’ Day Reading

CONWAY, Ark. (July 25, 2014) – There will be a Veterans' Day Reading on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11:11 a.m., at Young-Wise Memorial Plaza at Hendrix College.

The event is co-sponsored by the Department of English and the Hendrix-Murphy Foundation Programs in Literature and Language.

Eleven community members will read favorite short war or peace-related poetry or prose passage.

All members of the Hendrix community are welcome to submit. Those with current or past military service, or family in the military, are especially encouraged. Please send your chosen reading and brief biography to Hope Coulter (coulter@hendrix.edu) or Dr. Alex Vernon (vernon@hendrix.edu) by Tuesday, Nov. 4, so that a diversity of readings and participants can be chosen. Students are welcome to submit readings and will be included.
