CONWAY,
Ark. (July 25, 2014) – There will be a Veterans' Day Reading on Tuesday, Nov.
11, at 11:11 a.m., at Young-Wise Memorial Plaza at Hendrix College.
The
event is co-sponsored by the Department of English and the Hendrix-Murphy
Foundation Programs in Literature and Language.
Eleven
community members will read favorite short war or peace-related poetry or prose
passage.
All
members of the Hendrix community are welcome to submit. Those with current or
past military service, or family in the military, are especially encouraged. Please send your chosen reading and brief
biography to Hope Coulter (coulter@hendrix.edu)
or Dr. Alex Vernon (vernon@hendrix.edu)
by Tuesday, Nov. 4, so that a diversity of readings and participants can be
chosen. Students are welcome to submit readings and will be included.
