Research interest: how ecological interactions and evolutionary history affects the structure of natural communities

My general interest is how ecological interactions and evolutionary history affects the structure of natural communities. The focus of my research has been on how fire, predators, and nutrients interact to structure grasslands in Arkansas and the Great Plains. I have also performed research on evolutionary changes between closely interacting plants and animals, a process known as co-evolution. As a person interested in preservation, I have an interest in conservation biology and the ways in which proper management can protect populations of plants and animals and their habitats.
