Study Guide Corrections
Publishers print several thousand copies of a book when it comes out (first printing). For a second printing, they correct small errors that the author identifies.
The corrections that follow are arranged by the printing: 1st, 2nd, etc. To determine what printing your book is, turn to the back of the first page (which faces the dedication). In the middle of the left column there is a string of numbers. The first number on the left is the printing for your book.
First printing corrections are below.  Following the correction, I've listed the name and school of the first person who reported the error.

The formula for the median location wrong. It should be N+1 / 2. This error occurs in 3 places on this page. In every problem, fortunately, the value of the median is unchanged when the error is corrected.

Pages 117 and 118, Pblm 7. Although  the formula for the median location is correct in the two places in this problem, the calculations are wrong. For the men, it should be 36/2 = 18, and for the women, it should be 36/2 = 18. Fortunately, the value of the median is unchanged when these errors are corrected.
