  • Announcements

    New Student Orientation for the Fall 2026 semester will begin on August 18, 2026 with move-in day.  Info will be sent to new students via their Hendrix email.

    Orientation sessions and activities will be held on the Hendrix Campus
    August 18th - August 23rd. 

    Optional Orientation trips are planned for August 21st - August 23rd.

    The Orientation Team will be offering both OFF-CAMPUS and ON-CAMPUS Orientation trip options for incoming students.  Regardless of your preference, all campus orientation groups will get to experience community building experiences along with a Saturday filled with fun. 

    OFF-CAMPUS Orientation Trip*

    • Travel: Students will depart campus Friday afternoon and return Sunday afternoon via charter bus/15 passenger van transportation.
    • Lodging: Each participant will have their own bed in shared rooms or a single bunk bed in cabin style bunk room accommodations.
    • Meals: Some meals to be catered and some will be prepared by the Orientation Staff team; dietary needs will be accommodated.
    • Intensity: All activities are catered to a beginner level.  Students will be encouraged to move at their own comfort level.

    *The OFF-CAMPUS Orientation trip will require a $100 fee that will be added to the incoming student's Fall 2026 bill to cover travel and lodging expenses. Space is limited for each OFF-Campus experience.

    Students will select two preferences from the following three categories:

    Outdoor Category: Let’s get outdoors!  Outdoor Orientation trips include outings such as hiking in one of the many state parks. Explore the Natural State through immersion in the great outdoors!

    Water Category: Looking to cool off this August?  We have you covered with one of our Water Orientation trips!  Spend some time on the Ouachita River canoeing, kayaking, or splashing around.

    Indoor Category: Looking to explore and learn more about local culture?  Indoor category trips offer the opportunity to visit art museums, take part in creative activities, see local attractions, and experience what makes our state unique!

    ON-CAMPUS Orientation Trip 

    • Travel: All Saturday activities will receive transportation via Charter Bus/15 passenger van.
    • Lodging: Each participant will remain in their residence hall accommodation.
    • Meals: Some meals to be catered and some will be prepared by the team; dietary needs will be accommodated.
    • Activity Intensity: All activities are catered to a beginner level. Students will be encouraged to move at their own comfort level.

    Students will select two preferences from the following three categories:

    Outdoor Category: Let’s get outdoors!  Outdoor Orientation trips include outings such as hiking in one of the many state parks, digging for a famous Arkansas diamond, or cheering on your local minor league baseball team. Explore the Natural State through immersion in the great outdoors!

    Water Category: Looking to cool off this August?  We have you covered with one of our Water Orientation trips!  Spend an afternoon at a local water/amusement park and have a blast!

    Indoor Category: Looking to explore and learn more about local culture?  Indoor category trips offer the opportunity to take part in creative activities, get active through climbing or skating, and experience what makes our state unique!
