‘Know Your Ballot’ Event at Hendrix October 29

CONWAY, Ark. (October 11, 2018) – The Project Pericles Student Choices - Student Voices Task Force on Monday, October 29 will present “Know Your Ballot,” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Lecture Hall A of the Mills Center for Social Sciences. All students and community members are invited to attend this event as they prepare to cast informed votes on November 6.

Dean of Students Jim Wiltgen, the sheriff of the voting site located on the Hendrix College campus, will inform all voters, many of them first-time voters, about the newly revamped voting process. Dr. Jay Barth, the M.E. and Ima Graves Peace Distinguished Professor of Politics and director of the Odyssey Program, will provide an overview of the measures on the Arkansas ballot and present the arguments put forward by proponents and opponents of each of them.

In addition to these presentations, candidates for local office (state legislature, county, and city officials) have been asked to give three-minute introductions. These candidates have been invited to stay for a meet-and-greet session afterward.
