CONWAY, Ark. (June 27, 2019)
– Hayley Haden ’21 recently received an Annette Kade Language Learning Scholarship through the International Student
Exchange Program (ISEP) to fund her study abroad experience in France for the Fall
2019 semester.
Haden, a native of Austin,
Texas, is an interdisciplinary studies major in mathematical economics, with a
minor in data analytics. During her semester abroad, she will take a break from
focusing on her major to achieve her goal of becoming fluent in French.
Annette Kade Scholarships
are awarded based on demonstrated financial need combined with students’
determination to advance their language skills while immersed in an academic
setting.
While in France, she will
attend the Université Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3, which is centered on arts and letters,
languages, humanities, and social sciences.
“I cannot wait to be
immersed in the culture and have the chance to expand my knowledge and discover
new parts of myself,” Haden says. “I am also very thankful to the Annette Kade
Scholarship for helping me make this a possibility.”
Before her semester studying
abroad, Hayley is participating in the Hendrix-in-Tours program this summer
with Dr. Cathy Jellenik and seven other Hendrix College students.
